Regimen

I am the type of person that LEARNED to love ROUTINE. As a free spirited person by nature, I tend to get distracted and excited by the next cool excited thing I see and that can be a hinderance when I am trying to get things done, because like I 've mentioned before I like to feel accomplished. So with that I have adopted routines throughout the years that I believe have been extremely beneficial to me over the years. I had a routine of working out 4 times a day and eating 6 small meals a day ( this was pre pregnancy). While it looks different now, I still have ingrained the importance of staying active and particularly getting it in in the early morning or night. For me, it really helps my body relax and get my mind right. Another thing that has been beneficial to me is waking up early. I started waking up at 5 am everyday to give myself time to READ, PRAY, AND WORKOUT before going to work and then doing the same after work. Once again, that looks different for me for different reasons but I did that for EVERYDAY for 5 years. I always woke up feeling energized and ready for anything during the day. My spirit and BODY were constantly REJUVENATED AND INVIGORATED.

Recently, I have adopted a new routine and regimen, a skincare regimen. I know a lot of people know the importance of this but how many of us actually do it?! I know I have been guilty of not doing it, especially when my life was flipped upside down and things were a bit crazy. I was glad to just make it through the day let alone taking the extra time to tend to my face. Now that things are little less cuckoo it has become a must. For women of color, I know we have been blessed with that melanin skin that just doesn't seem to age so we don't feel the need to really tend to our skin, some of us just were never taught the importance and for others, we just being lazy. But for whatever reason, with this extra time we have I believe its time honey to take care of that BEAUTIFUL FACE of yours.
I've always cleansed and toned and used coconut oil on my face, morning and night. Recently I have discovered serums and creams and in just a few short months I have seen a difference. This is my new regimen that has worked well for me- I hope you find one that works for you and your a skin because not only are you worth it but you deserve it and your skin will thank you.
