Chickpeas Please!!

Something that I found that works as a great quick snack is roasted Chickpeas! You may not think your little one would go for it but they are actually quite buttery and smooth to the palate when boiled in water or even out of a can. This is snack that Onyx really enjoys which make me happy especially since she doesn't eat meat that often and has a small frame. Anything that's packed with protein is a necessity. Chickpeas, also known as "garbanzo beans" or "Egyptian peas" are high in protein, contains several amino acids, and are easily digestible which is great for your little ones tummy. I've used both canned chickpeas and uncooked chickpeas (I prefer the canned ones for Onyx since they're extra soft). I take the chickpeas, add about two teaspoons of smart balance, a little bit of oil, you can choose olive or coconut, which ever you prefer , salt and pepper and viola... a perfect snack you

and your little one can enjoy.
